Awaken to the sacred feminine through conscious aging
The dominant culture’s view of aging often gets reduced to a checklist of activities such as playing golf, traveling, and spending time with grandchildren if we have them. We’re led to believe that once we're no longer contributing to the economy, we are to ride off into the sunset.
In fact, currently billions of dollars are spent per year on products to keep us looking younger and to deny the aging process. Yet, this cultural narrative overlooks the rich, untapped possibilities that embracing our aging holds for us and the profound potential that comes with growing older.
For women, often this rite of passage begins with perimenopause. Where the physical changes occurring in our bodies inform our psyche that something is shifting. We are moving from one state of being into the unknown, inviting us to dig deeper, make meaning of the lives we’ve lived and organically discover an authentic path forward rooted in compassion, wisdom, and joy.

The Portals of Conscious Aging

In the sacred rhythm of our lives, there are profound portals that mark our journey, and for those of us who are biologically women, perimenopause and menopause are such gateways.
These are not merely biological events but transformative passages that invite us to shed old skins, re-evaluate our truths, and embrace a new phase of existence.
Perimenopause and menopause is an invitation to honor these powerful transitions.
Perimenopause is the initial portal that begins a period of undoing, of deconstructing old beliefs and patterns, that can be both challenging and liberating, as it calls us to reassess what truly matters in our lives.
As we continue on this journey, we eventually move through the portal of menopause, where our menses cease entirely. This is not an end but will eventually lead to a new beginning and a profound rebirth.
In this workshop, we will explore the emotional, physical, and spiritual dimensions of these transitions. We will create a supportive space to share our experiences, gain deeper understanding, and find empowerment and wisdom that result from these changes as we embrace the journey of perimenopause and menopause, recognizing them as sacred rites of passage that lead us to a deeper, more authentic expression of ourselves.

In a world that often venerates youth and marginalizes the wisdom of age, we find ourselves at a pivotal crossroads. This is where the class, "Images of Aging," gently steps in, inviting you to embark on a transformative journey. Together, we will delve into the deep-seated images and narratives that have shaped our perceptions of aging, body image, and beauty.

The practice of life review is like opening a beloved book, each chapter filled with the essence of our experiences. As we turn the pages, we begin to see the themes that have woven themselves through our lives. These themes are like constellations in the night sky, guiding us with their light. They reveal the lessons we’ve learned, the patterns we’ve followed, and the threads that connect our past to our present.
In the practice of life review, we find the courage to face our past with compassion, to heal our relationships with love, and to honor our deepest desires with intention.
It’s a journey of healing and transformation, guided by the gentle light of our own soul. And as we embrace this practice, we come to understand that our lives, with all their complexities and contradictions, are a beautiful and sacred story.

Aging is a profound and sacred journey, a portal into deeper understanding and healing. As we grow older, we are gifted with a unique perspective that allows us to revisit our past with compassion and clarity.
We can see the places where misunderstandings festered, where hurt lingered, and where we turned away from our own truth. Aging invites us to step into these spaces with a gentle heart, to offer forgiveness and seek reconciliation, creating a new narrative of love and connection.
This journey is not just about mending broken bonds with others, but also about healing the relationship we have with ourselves. It is about embracing the parts of us that we have ignored, shamed, or silenced. It is about acknowledging our regrets and allowing ourselves the grace to grow from them.
Through this sacred work, we reclaim our wholeness and step into a more authentic and loving version of ourselves. Aging, then, becomes a beautiful opportunity for deep, transformative healing, guiding us toward a richer, more fulfilled existence.

There are many ways to reflect on leaving a legacy to our loved ones. In these workshops we will explore the myriad of ways in which legacy can be transmitted to those we love. Such as, writing our memoir, having a bench in our name at a park we love, giving money to a cause we care about. But another powerful way to leave our legacy is through the writing of legacy letters which become the vessels of our stories. These letters carry our truths, insights, and blessings to those who come after us.
In these classes, we will delve into the art of legacy letter writing, creating heartfelt messages that encapsulate the essence of our lives. Through these letters, we can share our journeys, the challenges we have faced, and the wisdom we have gained. We express our values, offering guidance and love to those who will read our words.
This practice not only affirms our own experiences but also blesses future generations with the richness of our lived truths, ensuring that our legacy is one of love, wisdom, and connection.
I offer classes on legacy, Life Legacy Letter writing, and Life Legacy facilitator training which allow you to bring this ancient craft form into your own communities.

In the sacred space of our lives, there is perhaps no topic more profound, tender, and transformative than our relationship with mortality.
In the class I teach on mortality, part of the "Sage-ing" curriculum, we journey together into this deep exploration, seeking not just to prepare for our eventual death but to soften into the very essence of our own mortality.
By leaning into our relationship with mortality, we create space for profound healing and acceptance. We soften around our fears, our resistances, and our uncertainties, allowing a deeper peace to emerge.
This exploration is not about morbidity but about embracing the fullness of life with all its impermanence. Together, we will uncover how acknowledging our mortality can bring greater clarity, purpose, and richness to our days, guiding us to live more fully, love more deeply, and approach our eventual passing with grace and wisdom.
